Golder is currently seeking a Geologist to work in our Manchester, New Hampshire office. This position provides an opportunity to join a fast-paced team that provides solutions on environmental projects. The work entails a variety of office-related and outdoor “hands-on” activities, with a need to carefully follow instructions, document activities, and at times requires problem solving and proactive communication.  

Responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Performing subsurface site investigations including drilling, classifying soils, coring and logging rock, installing wells, and collecting environmental samples (e.g., soil, groundwater, soil gas) in compliance with State and Federal requirements
  • Providing oversight and coordination of subcontractors (e.g., drillers, laboratories)
  • Operating, maintaining, and monitoring remedial systems
  • Accurately documenting (e.g., field forms, field notebooks, daily reports) and verbally communicating site conditions, observations, and activities
  • Contributing to environmental monitoring and technical reports, including compiling field and analytical data
  • Safely performing work in the office and field; fieldwork may occur in all seasonal weather conditions, while using equipment (with an ability to lift and move approximately 50 pounds without assistance) and operating vehicles on behalf of the company 


  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology or related discipline
  • Up to five years relevant work experience
  • Computer skills and experience with industry standard commercial computer software including Microsoft Office and basic data management software
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical skills and a positive attitude as well as the ability to work both independently and on teams


  • Experience with New Hampshire, Massachusetts, or Connecticut regulatory programs
  • Ability to be comfortable in remote settings and a willingness to perform a variety of tasks as needed to complete an assignment
  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER and 8-hour refresher (as applicable)
