AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Seeking a Senior Project Manager/Environmental Planner for immediate employment in the Honolulu, HI office.
This position requires work within a group and individual setting and the ability to complete tasks within tight deadlines as well as technical expert supporting various levels of staff through mentoring and career development. The position will require travel. This position reports to the Environmental Planning Director.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Serving as a Senior Project Manager/Environmental Planner for the preparation of a variety of Federal NEPA and Hawaii Revised Statues (HRS) 343 projects and related resource management and state and Federal permitting documents
Responsible for project and staff management
Leading ongoing environmental planning work, and supporting the development of environmental documents and studies in compliance with NEPA
Serving as technical analyst on complex planning projects, for local, State and Federal
Working with clients, resource agencies, environmental and technical staff to prepare environmental documents and related technical studies
BA/BS in Environmental Planning or related field with 10 years of relevant experience or AA/AS (US) + 12 years of relevant experience.
Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Must have a valid U.S. Driver's Licensee
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or studies, Planning, Natural and/or Cultural Resource Management, or related field
8+ years of relevant professional experience, experience working with the Department of Defense, preference with U.S. Navy and Naval Facilities Engineering Command is preferred.
Experienced Project Manager with proven responsibilities for budgeting, scheduling, managing teams, invoicing and client relations.
Familiarity with the consulting industry
Ability to work independently and demonstrate a high level of competence in the area of technical report writing related to NEPA compliance as well as other types of technical reports and regulatory (Federal, State, local) permitting documents
Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills to effectively manage projects and interact with teams of staff, sub consultants, and clients; successful candidate will have the ability to write concise technical documents; to multi-task effectively to accommodate working on various simultaneous and diverse projects; and to follow through to completion all assigned and delegated tasks
Experience with environmental compliance, permitting, and agency consultations
Played a major part in supporting major NEPA efforts (EISs, EA's), with a demonstrated proficiency in applying NEPA to projects
Experience in marketing and business development efforts in pursuit of new projects
Solid time management and follow-through skills, with the ability to simultaneously work on and manage multiple tasks/projects with tight deadlines
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project
Experience preparing proposals, cost estimates, and change orders
