Job Description

The Health, Safety and Environment Sr Engineer will be the key point of contact for Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines and Vietnam. Reporting to HBT HSE Director, you will assist Business Managers and Leaders in delivering the HBT HSE Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and driving the safety and environmental culture in the the region.

You will conduct research and resolves routine legal questions under the direction of an attorney on a level between the attorney and a legal secretary. You will provide research and support activity and counsel and advises Honeywell personnel on routine matters. You will prepare agreements, instruments, documents and pleadings relating to litigation and non-litigation matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compliance to Honeywell corporate requirements and legislation
  • Represent the HBS (HBT) HSE Leadership team in the region
  • Establish relationships and processes with the Region Business Managers to influence employees to meet HSE goals and objectives
  • Work with the HSE leadership team to identify actions required to maintain or gain HSE Certifications to ISO 45001, ISO 14001, etc.
  • Present HSE related training such as Safe Operations Management and Internal Auditor training 
  • Audit Honeywell managed facilities to ensure the Company is compliant to Honeywell processes and statutory and corporate legislation. 
  • Complete injury / incident investigations as required
  • Facilitate internal and external HSE audits across the Region
  • Perform the role of Business Practice Management Representative for the the Region.
  • Conduct regular project/service contract reviews to increase HSE performance of the contract scope of works and check compliance to Field HSE Management System. 
  • On time reporting and maintenance of HSE documentation
  • Continual reviewing and improvements to safety, environmental & occupational health management systems
  • Recognition as the first point of call for all safety, environmental and occupational issues in the Region


YOU MUST HAVE

  • Master/Degree in Health, Safety, Environmental, Quality, Risk Management, Occupational Hygiene or equivalent. Registered Safety and Health Officer (SHO) with DOSH. Lead/Internal Auditor in ISO 14001 & ISO45001.
  • Minimum 6-9 years experience in a full time similar role with demonstrated HSE experience.
  • Industry sector experience in Refining, Offshore oil and gas (LNG), pulp and paper, bulk chemical manufacture,  minerals processing, construction industry with HVAC, BMS or Security Systems is a plus
  • Competence in accident/incident investigation techniques, including FMEA and other forms of analysis
  • A comprehensive knowledge of HSE legislation systems
  • Outstanding influencing and negotiation skills
  • Demonstrable personal attributes to effectively communicate and influence all levels of employees and leadership
  • Experienced in change management and continuous improvement projects
  • Willing to travel (domestically and international) – 20%.
