DESCRIPTION OF WORK

DEP's Chesapeake Bay Office has an immediate need for a Chesapeake Bay Program Specialist.  The employee in this position is responsible for developing and interpreting regulations; creating and updating manuals and standard operating procedures; preparing fact sheets to convey technical information to non-point source program managers and field personnel as well as Chesapeake Bay Program technicians; developing procedures to gather necessary information to effectively implement Chesapeake Bay policies and regulations; preparing documents outlining methodologies; reviewing county-wide action plans; and providing scientific oversight and technical review of Chesapeake Bay program findings and research.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

Qualifications:

  • Must meet PA residency requirement – For more information on ways to meet PA residency requirements, follow the link and click on Residency
  • Minimum Experience and Training Requirements - three years of professional environmental protection experience; and a bachelor's degree in the biological, physical, or environmental sciences, engineering, or in a field closely related to environmental protection or regulation; OR an equivalent combination of experience and training that includes three years of professional environmental protection experience
  • This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania driver's license
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions
