Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of professional work experience.
  • Experience working on sustainability topics.
  • Experience managing projects that require communication and collaboration with diverse stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with green-building rating systems such as LEED, Well, TRUE, BIT, etc. Passion for sustainability.
  • Experience analyzing large datasets to identify patterns, opportunities, and insights.
  • Experience with graphics, data visualization, and design.
  • Experience working in facilities management.
  • Experience with integration of sustainability programs across real estate portfolios.
  • Basic coding and querying skills such as Java, SQL, etc.

The Real Estate and Workplace Services (REWS) Sustainability Team is responsible for developing sustainability strategy for our global Real Estate and Development teams. We engage across our global Real Estate and Facility Management teams to deliver outcomes aligned with Google’s long term sustainability vision and goals.

As the REWS Sustainable Operations Coordinator, you will work with the REWS Sustainable Operations team and facility management teams to implement sustainability programs and projects designed to minimize the environmental impact of operating Google’s global offices. You will also partner with vendors and collaborate with the REWS Sustainability Design and Development team to ensure insights from operations inform the design process. In this role, you will work with the rest of the REWS Sustainable Operations team to continuously evaluate, evolve and improve strategy, programs, and projects.

The Real Estate and Workplace Services (REWS) team creates inspiring spaces and innovative services that bring Google’s culture and values to life. We build and maintain all aspects of what keeps our Googley workspaces operating seamlessly across multiple cities and regions globally. We also manage the industry-leading services that help make Google a great place to work -- from how we design healthy and collaborative workspaces, create energizing food experiences, provide convenient transportation and fitness options, to delivering inclusive environments where Google and our employees can thrive.

Responsibilities

  • Support efforts to reduce environmental and health impacts of Google’s office spaces in the areas of water, energy/carbon, waste, indoor environmental quality, healthy materials, procurement, pest management, etc.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data and create internal communication materials to support sustainability efforts.
  • Track participation and compliance for both requirements and voluntary projects. Increase participation rates by providing implementation and support for sustainable operations policies and procedures.
  • Build and maintain relationships as a trusted partner of internal Facility Operations stakeholders.
  • Stay informed of regulatory and technical developments in the sustainability industry.
