We're looking for a team member to join the Regulatory Compliance team, which is responsible for negotiating, communicating, and ultimately fulfilling Lyft’s compliance requirements. In this role, you will advise the company on environmental, worker safety, and other construction regulations and requirements, as we expand our Driver Centers throughout the country.  This role will be in our New York office and reports to the Senior Counsel, Regulatory Compliance.


  • Assess and mitigate the worker safety and environmental circumstances of each site identified by the retail team.
  • Manage any outside consultants hired to assist with inspections, analysis, remediation, and any necessary environmental and hazardous materials permits. 
  • Negotiate with local and state government agencies (such as the Bureau of Automotive Repair) in order to initiate and expedite the permitting process.
  • Provide advice on OSHA compliance (for both build-out and operations).
  • Lead efforts to respond to regulatory inquiries, reports, and audits.


  • 5+ years of experience working in a legal or compliance role, preferably within a corporate legal department
  • JD Degree from a top school
  • Experience working with public agencies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to think both tactically and strategically
  • Ability to multi-task effortlessly and manage competing priorities under demanding deadlines
  • Passion for Lyft and the ride-sharing community
