Job Description


Amazon is looking for a big-thinking leader to provide strategic direction in the transportation sustainability systems and processes space. The new leader will work with the core business teams within Amazon Transportation Services (Linehaul, Air, Sort Centers, Product and Technology) to innovate and scale global sustainable logistics operations and processes. This leader will be responsible for providing thought leadership and strategic direction to drive new programs and processes that enable ATS to reduce the carbon footprint from its operations. This leader will work with other business leaders across WW Operations to identify, scope and scale initiatives that eliminate or reduce carbon. This leader will also work with our businesses to inform and incorporate carbon impact into long and mid-term business decision making.

We are looking for an exceptionally motivated and talented Principal, Program Management, with a strong customer focus and analytical skills. You will help execute, and deliver on detailed plans, timelines and communicate to team leadership on status, risks, and process changes. You will need to thrive and deliver results in an ambiguous, and fast-paced business environment, operating across multiple teams and levels in the organization. The ideal candidate will have strong customer experience intuition, business and product sense combined with solid understanding of technical concepts. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. High judgment, ability to influence, analytical talent, exceptional communications, and leadership are essential to success in this role. We are looking for a passionate, innovative leader to define, deliver and scale our operational solutions for Customers globally. The leader will take a strategic lens at new process and tools to optimize solution and improve process efficiency.

The responsibilities for this leader include the following:
· Manage team of in-person and remote associates across support, field operations, node configuration and transportation management
· Use data and other closed loop mechanisms to create a scalable operations team that supports a fast-growing business
· Own the globalization of operational processes for these businesses adjusting for local nuances
· Gather and analyze information, formulate and test hypothesis and develop and communicate recommendations to senior leadership
· Dive deep to understand complex interactions and second-order impacts of decisions and incentive structures
· Act as the ‘business owner’, possessing a complete understanding of internal and external variables that impact our business
· Coordinate cross-functional teams and communicate with internal and external parties, while meeting tight deadlines
· Conduct financial analysis of business opportunities to meet and exceed goals. Everyone on the team needs to be entrepreneurial, wear many hats and be excited to join an ambitious team


· Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering
· 7+ years’ experience in strategic supply chain, transportation, and/or sustainability
· Track record of hiring and growing operational talent at all levels
· Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
· Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal skills, and an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams
· Ability to manage multiple priorities and make things happen in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; strong bias for action
· Passionate and knowledgeable about customer behavior


· Advanced graduate degree (e.g., MBA, MS, PhD, etc.)
· Professional certification (PMP, Lean, Six Sigma, APICS-CLTD)
· Comfortable with a varied set of software and editing tools. Ability to learn new tools quickly
· Familiarity with databases and SQL
· Expertise in a machine learning environment is a plus
