Job Description

Join the Maine Conservation Corps (MCC) as an Environmental Steward (ES)! These positions offer a unique opportunity to gain skills in the conservation field while increasing the capacity of local organizations. ES' receive training, certifications and benefits as an AmeriCorps member. The role of an ES is as varied as the needs of host sites. A sample of past projects include:

  • Habitat restoration
  • Invasive species monitoring
  • Environmental education
  • Engagement and advancement of community volunteer groups
  • Small scale recreational trail projects
  • Water quality monitoring

Only three host sites remain:

  • Bradbury Mountain State Park - Pownal, ME
  • Downeast Institute - Beals, ME
  • Vaughan Woods State Park - South Berwick, ME
