Job Description


Position Summary:   The Division of Forestry’s GIS Project Manager has an aptitude and desire to lead project teams in the development of specialized geospatial IT applications to ensure the Forestry Division and its partners can streamline their business functions.

This position requires strong leadership abilities, experience managing custom IT/GIS development projects with teams of developers, and the ability to track a multitude of tasks. The position requires excellent communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to work with a team of IT/GIS professionals to gather and document project requirements including scope, time, cost, benefits, risks and mitigation strategies. The position plans and manages application development through the entire project lifecycle for a portfolio of IT/GIS projects.

Customers for this position are located across the state and include approximately 500 Division staff, system users throughout the Department, key partner groups, and corresponding programs in the US Forest Service.
