Cardno is seeking an Ecologist needed to support construction compliance monitoring programs, environmental field surveys, and environmental impact assessment permitting in our Atlanta, GA and Birmingham, AL offices. Candidate must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and support multiple projects/tasks.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
> Support construction compliance monitoring programs, environmental field surveys, and environmental impact assessment permitting in our Atlanta, GA and Birmingham, AL offices.
> Position will support project managers and other staff with construction and permit compliance reports, research and report writing, wetland delineation, environmental permitting, wildlife habitat and presence/absence surveys, water quality monitoring, NPDES permitting and inspection, NEPA permitting, report writing, & compliance, regulatory permitting support, administrative support duties as needed.
> BS degree or higher in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, Natural Science, or related field is required
> 0-3 years experience. 2+ years of professional experience preferred
> Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint and Project required
> Experience with ArcGIS is preferred
> Experience with GPS field data collection is preferred
> Ability to prepare technical memorandums, reports, and environmental permit applications (USACE, NPDES, etc.)
> Knowledge of National Environmental Policy Act and federal and state permitting is preferred
> Experience with wetland/surface waters and/or wildlife permitting, ecological surveys, ecological studies, data analysis, and data interpretation
> Excellent report writing skills
> Technically inclined
> Ability to travel, approximately 50 % of the time
> Solid time management and follow-through skills, with the ability to simultaneously work on and manage multiple tasks and projects with tight deadlines
> Ability to work independently
> Positive, flexible team-oriented approach, with the willingness and desire to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
> Self-motivated, strong initiative; effective oral and written skills
> Detail oriented, resourceful
