In this role, you will be supporting a team of engineers and technicians, learning a wide variety of roles and will be working on large industrial sites with the opportunity to work both in the office and in the field. You will be expected to perform a wide variety of complex and diverse engineering tasks including identification and mitigation of groundwater contamination.
Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Supporting remediation projects of various sizes from large refineries/terminals to small to mid-sized gas stations for a diverse based of chemical, petroleum and manufacturing clients;
Remediation system evaluation, monitoring, operation and maintenance including troubleshooting and optimizing groundwater remediation systems;
Light non-aqueous phase liquids (LNAPL) characterization and delineation and hydrogeologic evaluations;
Fieldwork including sampling, testing, monitoring remediation equipment operations and maintenance;
Field oversight of mechanical, electrical, drilling, and other contractors;
Preparing/updating documents such as Standard Operating Procedures,
Standard Maintenance Procedures, and Inspection and Maintenance Plans;
Data compilation and evaluation, oral and written communications, report writing, and preparation of presentations.
Will be required to:
Understand piping and instrumentation drawings, topographic maps, groundwater contours, etc.;
Perform and oversee work with a high emphasis on safe practices in an industrial setting;
Ability to lift and carry up to 49 pounds; physical exertion such as extended periods of standing; walking over rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces; lifting; recurring bending or similar activities; and work under inclement hot and cold weather conditions.
Additional responsibilities will be determined based upon the needs of remediation group clients.
BS degree (Environmental, Geological Engineering or Civil Engineering preferred).
Must be able to obtain TWIC/Homeland Security Clearance
No experience required - entry level position!!! We will train!
We are looking for a problem solver, with a desire to work in Environmental remediation that has a strong mechanical aptitude!
A valid U.S. driver’s license. Position requires travel throughout NJ, NY, MD and PA.
Must have ability to work independently and collaboratively, with team members and subcontractors, and willing to learn and take on different types of tasks!
Must have good time management and written and verbal communication skills.
Successful candidate will be comfortable with both field and office work, will show solid decision-making, will prioritize safety, will take initiative, will be eager to learn, and capable of performing well while working on multiple diverse tasks.
Successful candidate will have to undergo 40 hour HAZWOPER training PRIOR to starting work.
