There is one position available that will be filled at either the Environmental Compliance Coordinator or Senior Environmental Compliance Coordinator level, commensurate with the selected candidates' skills and abilities.
The Dominion Power Generation business unit seeks an Environmental Compliance Coordinator or a Sr. Environmental Compliance Coordinator (depending of the applicant’s qualifications) to support the day-to-day operation of the Clover Power Station. The Clover Power Station is comprised of two 465 Megawatt pulverized coal-fired steam electric generating units in Halifax County, Virginia. The Clover Power Station is located about 110 miles west of Richmond, off of HWY 360 on the Staunton River.
The successful candidate will ensure company compliance with environmental regulations; serve as liaison with external and governmental agencies; interact daily with Operations and Maintenance personnel to ensure site compliance with environmental, chemical safety, waste management, and wildlife management rules and regulations; conduct inspections & assessments to determine compliance, and provide advice and sound recommendations regarding compliance, corrective actions and continuous improvement to Station Leadership; analyze & evaluate data and prepare reports to keep Station Leadership apprised of site environmental compliance; provide training to site personnel in handling chemicals and waste materials, or in other procedural requirements; coordinate waste disposal programs; evaluate new regulations and coordinate new compliance plans accordingly by working with internal and external stakeholders (Dominion Energy, Corporate Environmental group, local, state and federal regulatory agencies, etc.); perform other duties as requested.
The successful candidate must have the ability to work nights/weekends and off-hours call out. A valid driver’s license is required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
Experience with environmental laws, regulations, and permitting requirements governing the Power Generation Industry. These include, but not limited to, the following: SPCC & ODCP plan preparation and maintenance, wetlands permitting, air permitting & compliance, storm water permitting, VPDES, SWPPP plan preparation and maintenance, solid waste disposal, landfill management & CCR regulations, groundwater monitoring, waste management & disposal, CEM’s, Environmental Compliance tracking databases.
Ability to conduct site inspections or walk downs on several hundred acres of power station property.
Candidate should have an in-depth knowledge of environmental regulations and requirements.
Excellent communication skills to translate regulatory interpretations.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work in a field environment.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to handle sensitive situations with regulatory agencies, public, and company personnel at all levels.
Technical writing and Mathematical skills.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Education Level: Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Associate , Bachelor , Disciplines: Preferred: Environmental Science,Environmental Technology,Science , Other Education: Science, Technical, Environmental
