The Procurement Center of Excellence (COE) group is composed of global consultants with accountability for all global Procurement processes, projects, programs and procedures. In-scope is ownership of all global functions in Procurement pertaining to Governance, Compliance, Contracting Solutions, Data Analytics and Reporting, Metrics and Performance, PMO, Commercial Programs, Change Management, Training, Benchmarking, Enablement, Supply Chain Sustainability, End-to-End. Our global group excels through streamlining and globalization of our Procurement solutions by providing strong thought leadership and process expertise in their individual areas of responsibility, also in connection with the broader Procurement community and cross functional areas such as Shared Services, ITAS, Audit, Ethics & Compliance, Legal, Quality.

Each year Alcoa’s transacts tens thousands of purchase orders, shipping notices, and invoices with high volume suppliers.  Optimized processes such as Alcoa Buy, eCM/SPR, B2B, and BPAs enable these transactions to be largely automated with limited manual intervention.  However, without dedicated management of these automated processes, they can quickly become out of control, resulting in overdue orders/payments, and significant rework required by Procurement, Accounts Payable, and Suppliers.

The End-to-End Process Expert is responsible for managing the transactional relationship with these key suppliers to ensure efficient/effective processes and to prevent rework.  The role has global responsibility with a focus on the highest volume suppliers, and works with stakeholders including Commercial Owners, Procurement Operations, Procurement Services Center, Accounts Payable, and Supplier stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities (key tasks)

  • Develop, implement and maintain reporting processes to monitor the transactional health of key suppliers.
  • Facilitate regular transactional relationship review meetings with key suppliers.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to key Suppliers and Alcoa stakeholders.
  • Influence and train Procurement Services Center to improve transactional processes.
  • Participate in end-to-end capability assessments of suppliers as part of tender evaluations.
  • Provide input into supplier performance review processes.
  • Contribute to design of new optimized process system implementations and enhancements.
  • Provide program level reporting to Supply Chain PMO and Global Procurement Lead Team on supplier transactional health.
  • Liaise with the business process owners and regional experts in multiple regions and time zones.
  • Assist the Global End-to-End Consultant with project work and leave cover as required.
  • Follow and enforce the Alcoa Purchasing Policies and directives to comply with the business, ethical, safety and environmental requirements. Keep safety, fire protection and environmental protection regulations.
  • Assure compliance to all Governmental and internal regulations, policies and procedures within his/her responsibility.
  • Assure compliance to procedures, documented processes which are part of Alcoa’s quality system.
