Job Description

Whirlpool is seeking  a qualified candidate for the role of  Environmental  Health and Safety and Health (EHS) Engineer to join our Findlay, OH, EHS organization.  This position will participate in risk assessment activities, conduct safety audits and ensure findings are closed in a timely manner; develop and/or revise training presentations to reflect the company’s most up to date policies and procedures; lead training for groups of various classroom sizes; attend training and self-study when necessary to attain knowledge in World Class Manufacturing (WCM). 

Job Responsibilities

  • Implements and maintains company policies adhering to local, state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations
  • Involved in facility and workstation design; including environmental, health and safety recommendations to facilitate risk reduction and injury elimination
  • Responsible for preparing, maintaining and implementing EHS policies and procedures as required
  • Provides site leadership for World Class Manufacturing Pillars, specifically for the Safety and Environmental Pillars with a supporting role for other Pillars
  • Supports compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization
  • Actively participate in team meetings & demonstrate willingness to partner closely with Operations
  • Support the Safety Technicians and Area Coordinators as needed 

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3+ years working in an EHS or Safety role 

Preferred Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental, Health and Safety
  • Health and Safety Experience
  • Experience preparing/reviewing reports and permits listed above
  • World Class Manufacturing (WCM) experience
