Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Senior NEPA Manager. This position is a strategic role within our Federal Impact Assessment & Permitting practice.

The primary work location is an existing AECOM office in the US; we will consider excellent candidates in any existing office location. Location in the eastern or southeastern US, however, is preferable.

The successful applicant will join a network of existing AECOM NEPA and Impact Assessment and Permitting (IAP) specialists across the US, and will have the resources of more than 3,500 environmental planning staff available to assist in project delivery.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Biology, Ecology, Natural resources, Wetlands management, Geology, Acoustics, Aviation planning, other planning, or an earth science-related field

  • 8+ years of experience in related field, preferably NEPA consulting to the USAF, ANG, USAFR, and other DoD/Federal clients or demonstrated equivalency of education and experience.

  • Specific and established experience in providing NEPA consulting services to the USAF, ANG, and/or USAFR in multiple locations

  • Existing, mature, and tested Client relationships with an ability to generate new work for the Team, Office, and Company

  • High degree of self-motivation and the ability to work independently with limited supervision, as well as in a collaborative team environment

  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects and teams to scope, schedule, and budget

  • Excellent communication skills, including both oral and written (writing sample required)

  • Solid report writing and organizational skills

  • Strong working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications, including MS Word, Excel, and Power Point

  • Organizational management skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work

  • Position requires field work and candidate must be able to travel

  • Experience working in a fast-paced consulting environment

  • Strong experience with NEPA (and Natural/Cultural Resources Management), including ability to manage projects, interdisciplinary teams, and workload, as well as interface successfully with Clients

  • Demonstrated proposal writing skills, including major (SF330) and minor (Task Order) Proposals

  • Demonstrated ability to market and win work successfully and effectively

  • Ability to assist in the development a successful Federal Environmental Planning market practice, resourced for delivery by existing AECOM assets

  • Familiar with Federal, notably including Department of Defense (DoD), NEPA and Natural/Cultural resources requirements and processes

  • Excellent and relevant references

  • Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in relevant field

  • 15+ years industry experience

  • Professional certification(s) – PMP, CEP, PE, or similar

  • Knowledge of GIS and MSProject

  • 40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER training

  • US Red Cross First Aid/CPR training

  • Prior military experience (USAF)

  • Active Secret or Top Secret security clearance
