GS-07 Salary Range: $44,767 - $58,196 (Steps 1 - 10)
GS-09 Salary Range: $54,760 - $71,189 (Steps 1 - 10)
GS-11 Salary Range: $66,253 - $86,132 (Steps 1 - 10)

The duties of this position are developmental in nature, leading to the full performance level of GS-11. The incumbent may be placed at the GS-07, GS-09 or GS-11 depending on qualifications and agency need. If selected at the 07 or 09, the incumbent may be non-competitively promoted to the next higher grade levels (GS-09 or GS-11) upon meeting all regulatory requirements; certification by the supervisor of successful performance; completion of all training requirements; and the availability of work at the next higher grade level. Note: Promotion is not automatic.

Incumbent serves in a developmental capacity, to eventually perform the assignments of the full performance GS-11. Assignments at the GS-07 and GS-09 levels are designed to expand and foster the incumbent's knowledge, skill and experience leading to more complex work commensurate with the next higher grade level.

  • GS-11 Duties: Serves as a Planner/Study Manager, planning and coordinating studies which are segments of larger studies.
  • Studies affect potential, proposed or authorized water resource planning civil work projects, e.g., navigation, flood protection, erosion control, storm protection, recreation, preservation and enhancement of wildlife resources, watershed assessment, and other water resources development.
  • Incumbent will directs, manages and/or assist in water resources studies.
  • Analyzes input from various study sources and performs research in technical literature.
  • Prepares and/or presents briefing materials to project stakeholders.
  • Prepare various reports and documents such as: memoranda, study plans, appendices, environmental assessments, exhibits, graphics and other supplemental materials.

Travel Required

Occasional travel - Business Travel or TDY (Temporary Duty Travel) is approximately 20%.
