Summary

You will serve as a FORESTRY TECHNICIAN in the Environmental Management Division of MARINE CORPS BASE.

Responsibilities

  • You will direct initial attack forces and allocate personnel and supplies to initiate fire suppression effort.
  • You will conduct regeneration surveys and survival checks to determine seedling mortality and regeneration success.
  • You will implement a compartment prescription to determine the commercial volume of timber to be sold.
  • You will plan and execute timber cruises or surveys to estimate the quantity of commercial timber.
  • You will use electronic devices and radios to communicate safe travel on single-lane forest roads.
  • You will interpret field data and prepare information on species, quality, quantity, and volume of timber to be offered for sale.
