Job Description

Tetra Tech is currently seeking an Environmental Scientist to assist in the environmental permitting of large and small-scale public and private sector projects. The successful candidate will work on complex, deadline-driven projects from start to finish, and work closely with our multidisciplinary environmental/engineering staff. Expertise in inland and/or coastal wetland delineation is preferred. This position is primarily located in our Marlborough office with the flexibility to work from our other locations in Mansfield or Boston. 


  • Performing field investigations including wetland delineations, habitat surveys, and land use mapping
  • Permit application and report preparation for local, state and federal agencies
  • Preparing Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act (MEPA) and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documents
  • Attending agency consultations and assisting with presentation information at public meetings and hearings


  • 5+ years of relevant environmental assessment and permitting experience
  • Bachelor of Science degree in natural resources, ecology, or related disciplines
  • Professional Wetland Scientist certification preferred
  • Ability to apply inter-related regulatory programs to specific projects
  • Excellent verbal and technical; written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously
