This is a part-time position. The selected incumbents may work up to 20 hours per week. Work schedule is to be determined. This recruitment may be used to fill multiple vacancies. Essential Functions Include But Are Not Limited To

Under general supervision, investigates reports of water waste or other water conservation related requests, prepares reports and notices regarding water waste or water conservation investigations, and assists with special events promoting the City's water quality and conservation program. Assists Water Services Quality Inspectors with the digital recording of backflow prevention assemblies located within the City of Santa Ana. Assists with the input of data into the cross connection control program. Assists with water quality sampling and monitoring. Sets up displays and booths for public events. Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

Some experience in customer service, data entry, and/or water conservation, and possession of a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent; or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below.

DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of: common tools and equipment used in basic construction; basic writing skills; safety precautions and practices in the operation of these common tools and equipment.
Ability to: understand and follow specific oral and written instructions; use a desktop/laptop computer; perform strenuous manual tasks; operate a full size van or utility truck; use basic hand tools; work alone or in a team and with the public, perform work of a semi strenuous physical nature, including lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
Skill in: the safe use of common tools and equipment used in construction, maintenance, and repair work.

SPECIAL MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Possession and retention of a valid California Class C Driver's License is a condition of employment in this classification.

Must be willing and able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
