Kimley-Horn's Virginia Beach office has opportunities for environmental science students. Interested candidates must have a willingness to perform general tasks supporting various projects including environmental, transportation planning, traffic operations, roadway design, and land development/site civil design projects. The qualified candidate will have knowledge of geological and biological sciences, natural resource regulations, water quality regulatory programs, wetlands identification including knowledge of botany and soil science and experience or classwork in chemistry, ecology, geology, water resources, geographic information systems and environmental science. Tasks may include, but are not limited to:

  • Field support
  • GIS mapping 
  • Data analysis 
  • Agency coordination
  • Report writing

Requirements

  • Must be in the process of completing a BS or MS degree from an ABET accredited university in the field of environmental science by summer, 2019
  • Strong communication, leadership and technical skills
  • Previous applicable work experience a plus
  • GIS experience a plus

Qualifications

Education

Required

Bachelors or better in Environmental Science or related field.
