Job Description

Job Summary

  • Understanding of NEPA, planning and permitting.

Utilizes advanced scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies develop technical solutions to complex problems.

  • Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, provincial and national regulations to ensure compliance. Work is performed with minimal direction.

  • Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment. Responsible for advanced duties and activities in their specialized functional area.

  • Conducts research and does investigation work as required.

  • Plans and organizes project studies.

  • Assists in the resolution of conflicting technical information and unsuitability of standard procedures.

  • Performs complex assignments often requiring the development of unique solutions to problems.

  • May oversee the work of less experienced scientists.

Minimum Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in ecology / biology.

  • Experience with utility-scale electric transmission and oil and gas.

  • Bachelors degree in Environmental Science, or related field.

  • Client engagement and development experience

  • Experience with selling, conducting, leading, and delivering environmental permitting services, including ability to manage projects, interdisciplinary teams, and workload, as well as interface with clients

  • Demonstrated proposal writing skills, including competitive proposals

  • Knowledge of environmental permitting, NEPA, relevant environmental regulations and processes, and related environmental considerations

  • MS Office Products proficiency

Preferred Qualifications

  • Position requires field work and candidate must be able to travel

  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects to scope, schedule, and budge

  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time
