We are seeking a forestry/GIS student with interest in working on our Michigan forestlands during the summer of 2019. This internship opportunity is at our Escanaba office location. Our internship program provides college students with an excellent opportunity to gain valuable field experience working with our team on real-world situations and projects. Key Functions: The Forest Inventory & GIS Intern will be responsible for inventory and GIS maintenance at our Escanaba location. The position will entail heads up digitizing of forest stands in our GIS, silvicultural history maintenance, check cruising, field exams, survival checks, and remotely sensed GIS analytics. The position will be a mix of office and field work. The candidate will work with ESRI desktop and mobile solutions, SQL, Microsoft Office products, and internal inventory software. Field work will entail cruise plot auditing and stand exam visits. This is a great position for forestry & GIS students looking to go into a forest analytics or a biometric profession.
