The Community Volunteer Ambassador program is part of a National Park Service initiative. We are seeking 55 interns (ages 21-29) to place at over 50 national park sites across the country. This position is most suitable for this year's graduating seniors, distant learners, or college graduates.
The intern’s purpose is to build the park’s capacity and strategically impact how national parks engage communities of color, the LGBTQ community, military families, seniors, and other underrepresented groups.
Once placed, the CVA intern will work with the park’s top staff in the office of Interpretation, Education, and Volunteerism where they will receive top-notch, federal-level training. In their daily duties, CVAs assist staff in the area of education (science or history), event planning, program development, and volunteer coordination. They also work closely social media staff to design awareness and community outreach campaigns.

The application closes at the end of November. Community Volunteer Ambassadors serve as a national cohort for exactly 50 weeks of the AmeriCorps service term 01/28/2019 - 01/13/2020. (Not flexible)
- be a US citizen or legal, permanent resident
- possess a 2-year degree or higher
- be between the ages of 21-30* throughout the entirety of the term 01/28/2019-01/13-2020
- be eligible to serve in AmeriCorps National and State programs (There is 4 term maximum)
- be willing to relocate
- possess a driver's license and a clean driving record from the past 3 years
