Utilizes basic scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope.
Collects and enters data, and applies technical principles and theories.
Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
Entry-level position; may not require previous experience.
Degree in science or related field required.
Bachelor of Science or Master of Science Degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Earth Science with an environmental focus or a related environmental degree from an accredited university
0-2 years of experience in environmental and scientific/engineering related industry
Basic understanding of environmental regulations such as ASTM-1527-13, AAI, Ohio VAP, RCRA, BUSTR, TSCA, and SARA
Must be willing to accept occasional short and long term field assignments
Must have a valid driver's license
40-hour HAZWOPER health and safety training certificate or an up-to-date 8-hr annual refresher course certification is preferred. Candidates without current certification or without prior 40-hr training will be required to attend (and receive certification) immediately upon hire.
Asbestos Hazard Evaluation Specialist certification and an Asbestos Hazard Abatement Specialist certification are preferred. Candidates without current certifications may be required to obtain both certifications upon hire.
Lead Risk Assessor certification is preferred. Candidates without current certification may be required to obtain certification upon hire.
Ability to write and to convey complex thoughts and ideas in a clear, concise manner
Candidate is expected to possess solid technical and problem solving skills
Fluency with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.) is mandatory
Excellent communication skills, including both oral and written (writing sample requested)
