Job Description

Parametrix, a leading engineering, planning, environmental sciences and construction management firm, is seeking an ENVIRONMENTAL PLANNING LEAD to join our Environmental team in Seattle in support of the Puget Sound (Bremerton, Puyallup & Seattle). Our Environmental team works for a variety of clients, including local and regional municipalities, state & federal agencies, and tribes.

WHO YOU ARE:

Experienced: Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Environmental Sciences, Geography, or similar. Master’s degree preferred. 10+ years of environmental experience, preferably in the consulting environment. 

Leader: This position will supervise a talented team and join the Environmental leadership team within the Puget Sound region. You care deeply about delivering for your clients, your fellow employees and the environment and your quality work reflects this.

Established Connections: Identify and lead strategic project pursuits for NEPA/SEPA compliance and related planning and environmental analyses. Monitor and maintain activities regarding leads and opportunities. Facilitate and develop client relationships. Act as the primary interface with specific clients to ensure services are meeting their needs and expectations. Establish and monitor relationships with key teaming partners and work with Parametrix design staff to identify environmental support needs for infrastructure projects.

Talented: You will have the opportunity to provide environmental planning services while partnering with resource specialists, biologists, and engineers.  Job responsibilities include conducting NEPA and SEPA impact analyses; research and writing of EISs, EAs, and related environmental documentation; assisting with environmental permitting efforts; and developing documentation for a variety of planning studies. Experience on transportation and/or other complex infrastructure projects is required.

Relationship-focused: Strong interpersonal skills, collaborative approach, team player and you thrive on developing rapport with others to maintain quality delivery. Experience as a supervisor and mentor is important; demonstrated ability to grow and diversify a planning group is highly desirable. The successful candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be comfortable with working in a team environment on large, complex projects.
