Job Description

This position is located in the in the Compliance and Enforcement Branch of the Air Quality Division, Environmental Services Administration.

The incumbent is responsible for carrying out programmatic work for the District of Columbia's (Washington, DC) ambient monitoring network design, implementation, setup and operations, air quality data assessment and analysis in support of the DCs ambient air quality goals mandated by the federal Clean Air Act. The incumbent will also carry out programmatic work for the DCs vehicle air pollution inspection and maintenance (I/M) program. This developmental level Environmental Protection Specialist position requires knowledge of the principles, concepts, and techniques related to state/local air quality programs, ambient air monitoring, and automobile air pollution controls and vehicle emissions inspections.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION 

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four year-college or university in a relevant field, plus at least two (2) years of relevant work experience preferred; OR any combination of at least three (3) years of relevant work experience, education, or training. At least two (2) years of specialized experience equivalent to at least CS-7.
