Provide technical preparation of, assistance with, and support for the completion of NEPA documentation, including attaining compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental regulations pertaining to land, air, water, natural, and historic resources. Prepare the full development of technical requirements and cost estimates for studies, plans, investigating contamination, and providing prudent best management practices. Provide technical advice to USCG planning staff and contracting officers. Perform site investigations to gather essential information for coordinating projects with regulatory and resource agencies and for preparing or updating plans. Provide expert in-house assessments of project impacts, best management requirements, required studies and costs, consultation, studies, and timelines for final project implementation. Assist with project environmental coordination with engineers, regulators, resource agencies, Native American tribes, and interested parties. Prepare all correspondence and applications for Coast Guard submittals, facilitate and attend multi-media environmental compliance evaluations, and assist with special projects, as assigned. This position is located in Alameda, CA.
-8+ years of experience with preparing environmental assessments and categorical exclusion determinations
-8+ years of experience with conducting NHPA Section 106 consultations and preparing memorandums of agreement
-8+ years of experience with ESA consulting, preparing biological assessments, and coordinating under the Coastal Zone Management Act
-Experience with Microsoft Office applications
-BA or BS degree in Environmental Studies
-MA or MS degree
