AIR QUALITY SPECIALIST
PER COUNTY RULES, THIS POSITION IS ELIGIBLE FOR APPOINTMENT AT STEP 1, $73,070.40 ANNUALLY. COUNTY EMPLOYEES ARE SUBJECT TO THE COUNTY PROMOTION RULE FOR STEP PLACEMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH COMP ORD 1.3.5.
The County of San Diego is currently accepting job applications for Air Quality Specialist. Air Quality Specialist is a professional journey level class allocated only to the County's Air Pollution Control District. Incumbents in this class are responsible for analyzing the effects of traffic, transportation systems, growth and development projects on air quality, research and analysis of mobile source emission reductions and strategies.
1) A bachelor's degree from an accredited U.S. college or university, or a certified foreign studies equivalency with major coursework in urban/environmental planning, environmental or physical science, engineering, or a related field; AND, two (2) years of recent professional experience performing transportation engineering, transportation systems/demand management, mobile emissions reduction planning or incentive program development , environmental planning and evaluations; OR,
2) One (1) year of experience as an Associate Air Resource Specialist with San Diego County's Air Pollution Control District.
