Join Cardno’s Science and Environment team in Sacramento, CA to play an integral role in providing environmental consulting services with specialties in natural resources, cultural resources, environmental permitting and compliance and environmental liability.

Job Description:

Cardno is seeking an Environmental Scientist with a strong CEQA and permitting background to work with a multidisciplinary team on a variety of water projects related to water rights, hydro relicensing and water transfers in San Francisco Bay Area or Sacramento, California and the western United States.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

> Writing and editing clear, accurate, and defensible environmental documents in compliance with Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) regulations, the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and permit applications (401, 404, 1600)
> Project or task management
> Coordinating environmental technical studies
> Coordinate closely with internal and external project teams to ensure milestones are achieved

> Preparing general and technical sections of project reports

> Maintain positive client relationships

Basic Qualifications:
> Bachelor's Degree in environmental science or a closely related field
> 3-10 years of relevant professional experience working on projects that involve NEPA/CEQA compliance and permitting
> Knowledge of CEQA/NEPA process requirements and implementation
> Knowledge of pertinent environmental regulations (401, 1600 and 404)
> Experience working on natural resource or hydro-electric facility projects
> Experience working on FERC hydro relicensing projects
> Strong business/client orientation
> Excellent oral and written communication skills
> Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
> Strong business/client orientation
> Detail Oriented, Team player
> Ability to periodically travel to field sites and other Cardno offices throughout the U.S. up to 15%
