Job Description

Join Cardno’s Science and Environment team in Sacramento, California to work with a multidisciplinary team of accomplished aquatic biologists, ecologists, water quality modelers, engineers, and planners on a variety of projects.

Job Description:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

>  Technical data analyses for aquatic reports, including hydrology analyses

> Technical report writing including impact evaluations

> Lead field surveys to support various aquatic studies including: fish surveys (also other aquatic species), instream flow/hydrology, water temperature, general water quality

> Presentations with clients and stakeholders

Basic Qualifications:

> Bachelors with relevant experience, Masters or PhD degree in fish biology, aquatic ecology, or environmental science/engineering or related science

> 2 - 10 years of relevant experience

> Excellent technical report writing

> Strong quantitative skills, and strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel

> General knowledge of Northern California watersheds and the California Bay-Delta

> General knowledge of anadromous species/ water resources/ water quality

> Experience/ability to collect field data (e.g., fisheries, water quality, hydraulics/hydrology)

> Ability to travel

Desired Qualifications:

> Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements for NEPA/CEQA, ESA, Clean Water Act, etc.

> Experience with instream flow modeling

> Ability to work well independently and with a diverse, multi-disciplinary team

> Self-motivated with strong initiative

> Creative, resourceful, and detail oriented

> Positive and energetic attitude
