BR&T Materials & Manufacturing Technology is looking for an entry-level Materials and Process engineer for our Chemical Technology group.

Responsibilities will have an emphasis on:

  • Metals finishing
  • Understanding and executing inorganic chemical processes (ex. anodize, passivation, etc.),
  • Supporting projects that help Boeing find and implement alternatives to metals finishing processes that utilize environmentally-regulated/restricted chemicals. 

The successful candidate will be:

  • Energetic; driven; safety conscious; handy in the lab; able to work under close supervision with direction for routine work;
  • Able to work special projects with detailed instruction.
  • Assist with the design of test set-ups, obtain data, and provide solutions to a variety of technical research problems.
  • Contribute to the completion of specific project milestones; and his or her results, decisions, and recommendations will be used to ensure that the projects stay on-time and on-budget.

Qualifications 

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Hands-on chemical or materials laboratory experience (internship or employment), including the handling of hazardous chemicals.
  • Bachelor degree from an accredited course of study in a relevant engineering or science field (preferably chemical engineering, chemistry, or materials science 

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): 

  • The successful candidate will have experience in one or many of the following specialties: Chemical Processes, Metals Finishing, Regulated Chemicals, Environmental Regulations, and/or Analytical Chemistry. 

Typical Education/Experience:

Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
