We offer competitive compensation and benefits and are searching for innovative people to join our teams. Tetra Tech EMC is actively seeking an Environmental Compliance Specialist to support the U.S. Navy at Naval Base Ventura County (NBVC), CA, to provide specialized management of U.S. Navy SNI regulatory filings (NMFS SNI LOA for missile launches).  The ideal candidate will analyze and prepare responses to inquiries from NMFS regulators. This individual will coordinate related acoustic and mammal monitoring, reporting and developing impact reporting on disturbance responses of scientific value.  Prior demonstration of subject matter expertise in the filing of Letters of Authorization/Applications to NMFS Permit Headquarters for Incidental Harassment Authorizations (IHA) is required.   Position requires excellent technical writing and communication skills with an understanding of environmental laws including the Coastal Zone Management Act (CZMA), Endangered Species Act (ESA), National Environmental Policy Act, Marine Mammal Protection Act, and Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Management and Conservation Act. 

Applicants must posses an active Secret or above Security Clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).



  • BS or BA degree in environmental science, biological science, or other natural science discipline with (2) two to (4) four years relevant experience; a Master's Degree in a similar field is a plus.
  • Although working independently this individual must be able to work as part of a team, including frequent interactions with government personnel and contractors.
  • Must hold or have the ability to obtain a  Secret security clearance; US citizenship is required.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office software applications is required.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written are essential.
