Overview / Responsibilities

Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is recruiting for an Environmental Scientist to work in our St. Louis, Missouri office. This is a position which will appeal to individuals with an understanding of the NEPA process, good work ethic, and genuine interest in career growth within a professional team of environmental scientists and biologists. The successful candidate will report to the NEPA Coordinator and Project Managers and work will be performed to support and maintain the delivery of projects related to NEPA and related laws and policies. 

Wood invites qualified applicants with a Bachelor’s degree in planning, environmental science or an equivalent discipline with 3-5 years direct work experience and understanding of NEPA and related laws and policies to apply for this position. 

We will consider candidates interested in fulltime or part-time. 

Key Responsibilities 

This position will support on-going and future NEPA projects. Flexibility and willingness to work as part of an in interdisciplinary team is a must. Key responsibilities include the following: 

  • Work with the NEPA group to produce high quality, defensible documents
  • Ability to meet project schedules
  • Understanding of impact assessment methodologies and technical writing
  • Flexibility and willingness to work as part of an in interdisciplinary team

Skills / Qualifications

  • The successful candidate will have a BS degree in in the field of environmental science, planning, or an equivalent discipline
  • 3-5 years of applicable experience with NEPA documentation
  • Applicant will have excellent writing and communication skills
  • Ability to produce concise documents that meets required standards
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record for travel within the central US
  • Must pass drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy
