The intern will be working on a variety of tasks related to environmental regulatory compliance requirements and components of the plant's Environmental Management System (ISO 14001). Summer responsibilities will include assisting with environmental audits, collection of compliance data and preparation of required compliance reports, development of training courses and environmental awareness campaigns in the plant, and special projects involving reduction of water consumption, air emissions, waste generation, and/or industrial wastewater discharge.
These responsibilities are strictly associated with the management system and compliance activities that are applicable to BMW's buildings and processes. Responsibilities of the Environmental Management department do not extend to mobile sources (i.e. vehicles produced at Plant Spartanburg).
Qualifications and experience
MUST ATTACH A COPY OF UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT
-Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
-Have full time status at an accredited four year college or university in the United States
-Completed at least 30 credit hours
-Have at least 1 remaining term in school after the completion of the co-op or internship
-Transfer students must have a GPA from current university
-Complete and pass a substance abuse test before the work term
-Must have the legal right to work for BMW Manufacturing Co., LLC in the United States.
