As a leader in providing consulting engineering services in the Northwest, we are currently seeking a qualified individual for the following open position in our Seattle, Washington office:


The Environmental Compliance Manager in our Seattle Natural Resource (NR) practice will be responsible for providing environmental compliance oversight on a variety of construction projects in the Puget Sound Region, will serve as a senior subject matter expert to our clients and staff, and will provide leadership/mentorship to our junior NR staff in the Seattle office.  This person will report to PBS’ Natural Resources Principal in Charge and work with other environmental compliance managers, environmental compliance inspectors, contractors, other consultants, regulatory agencies, and owners in their day to day activities.  Range of construction projects include transportation, transit, public work, and residential, commercial, and industrial development. May also manage and/or assist with other NR projects including wetland delineations, permitting, mitigation design, natural resource planning, fish and wildlife studies, shoreline restoration, NEPA/SEPA documentation, ESA compliance, and related activities. In addition, the Environmental Compliance Manager will assist in the development and implementation of our strategic marketing plan for this practice group, which will involve identifying opportunities for new client relationships and revenue growth.

Job Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Providing environmental compliance management and oversight on construction projects in the Puget Sound Region;
  • preparation of environmental documentation, permits, and plans;
  • review of design documents for compliance with environmental permits and commitments;
  • meeting with clients, agencies, and owners; and
  • conducting environmental awareness training.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in an environmental related field
  • At least 5 years of experience managing environmental design and construction compliance issues on projects
  • Experience with linear transportation projects
  • Experience in Puget Sound/Pacific Northwest Region
  • Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Lead (CESCL), as recognized by the Washington State Department of Ecology, or be a Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC)
