Job Description

As an Environmental Assessment Project Leader for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), you will be involved in and have the opportunity to be responsible for the development, execution, and management of varied environmental assessment and compliance design projects.  These projects may involve any or all of the following: General facility assessment, compliance and permitting, client interaction, regulatory interaction and negotiation, project solution designs, and project/program management. Project and CEC travel time will be required. Position duties include:

Technical delivery, leadership, direction, and management of project efforts; development of client relationships, and specifically... 

  • Lead, manage and review asbestos, mold, and indoor air quality projects;
  • Provide quality reviews of ASTM-compliant Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), as well as subsequent site investigation and remediation projects;
  • Lead and participate in planning, cost / proposal development, management, scheduling, and execution of project efforts;
  • Maintain effective communication and coordination with Client, project team, subcontractors, and regulatory agency staff;
  • Prepare project deliverables including letters, reports, site investigation / remediation work plans; and
  • Client relationship development; becoming familiar with the Client’s expectations, needed scope, and schedule

Here's What You'll Need:

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience with commercial and industrial properties;
  • B.S. in Environmental Science/Geology or related field (with applicable experience);
  • Appropriate professional registration preferred;
  • Strong working knowledge of, and experience working with, asbestos, mold, indoor air quality, and ASTM 1527-13 due diligence standard;
  • Proficiency in data review and assessment with attention to detail;
  • Proficiency in Office Word, Excel, and Acrobat programs;
  • Must be self-motivated, able to work independently, complete scheduled tasks, and/or lead a project team.
  • Good interpersonal, listening, writing, and communication skills are necessary; and
  • Valid driver’s license.
