THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The Air Quality Program Specialist (AQPS) in this position will be responsible for the development and operation of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection's federally mandated statewide ambient air monitoring networks. The AQPS will be performing quality assurance on the Department's criteria pollutant and meteorological data. The AQPS will be responsible for analyzing ambient air monitoring and meteorological data to diagnose trends.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

Qualifications:

  • Must meet PA residency requirement
  • Minimum Experience and Training Requirements - Two years of experience as an AIr Quality Program Specialist; OR one year of experience as an AIr Monitoring Program Supervisor; OR three years of professional work in the control and abatement of air pollution and a bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, or an environmental field closely related to Air Quality Management; OR an equivalent combination of experience and/or training
  • Necessary Special Requirement - Possession of a valid Pennsylvania driver's license
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions
