Job Description


You will serve as a Biologist and the National Park Service (NPS) Servicewide Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Coordinator. The position is located in the Wildlife Health Branch of the Biological Resources Division (BRD), Natural Resource Stewardship and Science Directorate, National Park Service. The position is duty stationed in Fort Collins, Colorado.

  • Identify, review, and recommend scientific methods to be used by NPS to perform prevention, surveillance, management, and control activities.
  • Establish and maintains technical contacts and communications with regions, NPS programs, and parks as appropriate to provide updates on emerging vector or other pest issues and to plan appropriate management response.
  • Consult with public health and wildlife health and disease professionals as well as with facilities and maintenance directorates.
  • Develop budget initiatives, research needs, training requirements, and program strategies within NPS budgeting and planning processes.
