Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking an oil and gas (O&G) Senior Environmental Senior Project Manager specializing in the assessment and permitting of pipeline and midstream facilities, with a focus on both liquids and Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC)-regulated pipelines and facilities, for immediate employment within our Duluth, MN office. The successful applicant will join a network of existing AECOM specialists across the U.S.

AECOM is seeking a dynamic individual, capable of conducting the below work with local knowledge of ecosystems; someone who works well with others and is comfortable in small or large groups; and who can skillfully and efficiently prepare high quality technical documentation/reports/permit packages.

  • Experience working in a fast-paced consulting environment, and managing and mentoring staff

  • High degree of self-motivation and the ability to work independently with limited supervision, as well as in a collaborative team environment

  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects to scope, schedule, and budget

  • Organizational management skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Biology, Environmental Planning or other related field

  • 13 years full time work experience in the energy field, preferably within impact assessment and permitting (IAP), NEPA, natural resources management, water resources management, and/or cultural resources management consulting industry

  • Professional registration and/or certification, as applicable

  • Strong, current experience & relationships with major pipeline and integrated O&G companies providing IAP services, leading client engagement and development and win work successfully

  • Strong experience with conducting, leading, and delivering environmental permitting services, including ability to manage projects, interdisciplinary teams, workload and team building.

  • Demonstrated proposal writing skills and successful pursuit of competitive bids

  • Knowledge of FERC requirements and related experience with preparing FERC Section 7(c) resource reports and pre-filing process, environmental permitting, NEPA, relevant environmental regulations and processes, and related environmental considerations

  • Experience with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Section 404/401 permitting processes and State NPDES requirements and permitting processes, including wetland/waters of the U.S. permitting, mitigation, and restoration

  • Good working knowledge of word processing and integrated software applications, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in relevant field

  • 15+ years full time work experience in related field, preferably within the IAP, NEPA, natural resources management, water resources management, and/or cultural resources management consulting industry

  • Experience managing and mentoring project managers to coordinate an integrated and collaborative team sales and marketing approach

  • MS Project experience

  • Possession of any of the following certification(s): PMP, PWS, AICP, PE, etc.
