As a Natural Resource Management Specialist, you will be performing the following duties:
- Analyze the biological aspects of fishery and protected species conservation or management problems or issues and recommend fishery and protected species management plan amendments or regulatory amendments upon fish, protected resources, and habitat that would resolve the problem or accomplish the stated conservation or management objective;
- Prepare original regulatory documents (biological opinions, letters of concurrence or EA/EIS) and resource management plans (recovery plans, status reviews or fishery management plans) and issues advisories (executive briefings);
- Manage the internal review process for fishery and protected species management plan amendments or regulatory amendments to ensure that the documents are completed, reviewed, approved, and implemented within established deadlines; and, develop professional consensus regarding the effects of proposed actions; and
- Analyze the impact of proposed fishery and protected species management plans or regulatory amendments on the human environment, the fishing industry, communities, the public, and other affected parties. Perform scientific literature research.
