Develop, implement, and monitor habitat management plans for Sarasota County natural area parks, preserves and trails.

Minimum Qualifications:  A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in one of the biological or physical sciences, Environmental Engineering or related field and three (3) years of professional experience which includes managing natural areas (prescribed burning, exotic control, ecological restoration). Progressively responsible professional experience may be substituted on a year- for-year  basis for  the  required  college  degree.  A  Master's  Degree  may  substitute for one year of professional experience. A valid Driver’s License is required.

Preferred Qualifications:  FL Certified Prescribed Burn Manager (or ability to obtain within 12 months), Pesticide Applicator License (or ability to obtain within 12 months), and Certified NATA Natural Areas Manager (or ability to obtain within 3 years).

Job Competencies:  Field sampling, resource management experience (prescribed burning, exotic species management, habitat restoration, etc.) and computer software (MS Word, MS Project, Excel, GIS, Arc View).
