DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position is responsible for providing technical, engineering, and regulatory support to regional staff members, industries, consultants, environmental groups, and private citizens. The duties primarily focus on the technical and economic assessment of air emissions and associated air pollution control equipment by reviewing Plan Approvals and Operating Permits issued by the regional office staff members implementing provisions of the Federal Clean Air Act, Air Pollution Control Act and regulations including Title 25, Chapter 127.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

Qualifications:

  • Must meet PA residency requirement
  • Minimum Experience and Training Requirements - Successful completion of the training program for Air Quality Engineering Trainee; OR one year of professional experience in air quality engineering or environmental engineering, and a bachelor's degree in the field of engineering; OR two years of professional experience in air quality engineering or environmental engineering, and possession of a valid Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; OR one year of professional experience in air quality engineering or environmental engineering, and possession of a valid Professional Engineer license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists.  Graduate study in chemical, mechanical, electrical or environmental engineering may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis
  • Condition of Employment - this position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania driver's license
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions
