Environmental Field Supervisors work under the direct supervision of Project Managers in the field. Environmental Field Supervisors will prepare, oversee and perform environmental remediation activities centered around in situ injection technologies. An Environmental Field Supervisor will be responsible for project execution, including pre-work site inspections, project planning, subcontractor selection/oversite, crew assignment, data collection, and the safe and effective completion of the field efforts. An Environmental Field Supervisor should be knowledgeable in the operation of mixing and injection equipment, application of the different injection methods, tooling, and mechanical systems. Environmental Field Supervisors are expected to participate in Cascade’s health and safety program through active engagement in the recognition, identification, reporting, and mitigation of hazardous situations, conditions, equipment and/or practices. Environmental Field Supervisors are expected to assume leadership roles in the execution of projects and the continuing education of Specialists, Technicians and trainees. This is a field position, requiring out of town travel for 50% - 60% of work time.
The work requires moderate to heavy physical exertion such as working outdoors in extreme temperatures and climates, long periods of standing; walking over rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces; recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching or similar activities; recurring lifting of moderately heavy items such as drilling equipment, tooling and consumables materials of the trade (up to 50 pounds).
The work involves potential exposure to hazardous environments that require special safety precautions. For example: working around moving parts, carts, machines, hazardous chemicals, elevated noise levels, etc. Employees are required to use personal protective equipment (PPE) provided by the company including but not limited to: safety glasses, gloves, hard-hats, boots, respirators, protective suits, goggles, and shields. Because of the nature of the position, this position may require some on-call availability, including weekends and holidays. In addition, overnight travel and split-shift work may be required depending on project and client needs.
