 Proficiency in applying NJDEP Guidance Documents and Technical Regulations
 Proficient at using field equipment
 Performance of all sampling activities required of the ESI job description,
 Coordinates and implements the field activities required of the ES I job description with limited Project Manager oversight and is proficient in the installation of bedrock and double-cased monitoring wells and the closure of underground storage tanks (USTs),
 Directs investigation, delineation and remediation activities designed by the project manager, makes recommendations and workplan alterations to Project Managers within the remedial goals of the projects and in accordance with NJDEP technical requirements and guidance documents,
 Fully assesses analytical data and field observations for the purpose of developing technically accurate remedial plans,
 Uses multiple lines of evidence to support technical arguments and justify conclusions,
 Prepares and compiles reports, correspondence and supporting documentation in their entirety (e.g. PAR/SIR/RIR/RAR, SRRA forms, logs, electronic data) applicable to the scope of work set by Project Managers 

Work Environment:

Summary - An Environmental Scientist II (ES II) is responsible for planning and
implementing field activities, evaluating laboratory data and measurements collected during field work and preparing technical documents under the direction of a Project Manager. These duties are performed individually or as part of a team. The ES II is responsible for adhering to project goals and timeframes set by Project Managers. Their responsibilities may include the training of ES I staff in entry-level competencies; field equipment use, field activities, data entry and the preparation of technical reports.

50% field and 50% office; On call rotation once every 2 months; 8-5 working hours with some flexibility; This is a 22 person company and the Structure is typically: an LSRP, a PM, and an Environmental Specialist (ES1, ES2, or ES3 level); The ES positions are typically environmental scientists OR geologists but they do not do engineering; Clients are developers, banks, insurance, attorneys, utility firms such as PSE&G where they have a contract, and the reports are done in the office by ES3 and above while the ES2 and below help with preparing them but also do the majority of the field work

Full service, opportunity to grow and get your feet wet in different functions being that they are a smaller firm where everyone works on everything; They promote from within and are salaried but pay perm employees if they come in on a Saturday; ES2 bonuses could be around $1k and ES3 and above could be $2k or more depending on profitability of the firm AND performance which is based on billable hours 

Qualifications: - B.A. or B.S. in a related science field such as Biology, Chemistry, Geology, Environmental Science or Engineering. A master's degree is also
encouraged; Degree strongly preferred
- Minimum of 1 year in the industry
- OSHA or ability to obtain it
