Responsibilities

  • Conduct field surveys of invasive plants.
  • Operate airboats and motorboats.
  • Utilize Geographic Positioning System (GPS) and Georgaphic Information System (GIS) to monitor and track invasive species.
  • Participate in the planning, construction or implementation of ecosystem restoration projects.
  • Coordinate and plan with other agencies (Invasive Species Management and Ecosystem Restoration projects).
  • Use invasive species management methods (i.e., Biocontrol, Mechanical, Chemical)
  • Analyze data using spreadsheets, databases and/or GIS
  • Prepare reports and correspondence on technical issues and policy matters.
  • Input data using spreadsheets and/or databases
  • Participate in management of invasive species projects
  • Participate in outreach activities associated with invasive species management and ecosystem restoration.
  • Participate in public presentations to professional societies, civil and educational groups related to invasive species management and/or ecosystem restoration.
  • Operate airboats and motorboats.
