Job Description

Kleinfelder is seeking an experienced Senior Air Quality Professional to join our team in the Denver, Colorado office! The primary role of this position is to provide environmental and engineering technical support for various aspects of air quality compliance programs including:

  • preparation of emission inventories,
  • permit application development,
  • regulatory review,
  • compliance recordkeeping,
  • greenhouse gas reporting, and
  • dispersion modeling.
  • Leads teams of internal or external technical resources to bring the most appropriate technical expertise for the solution
  • Mentors junior staff on problem solving approaches, developing the big picture understanding
  • Routinely accompanies CAMs in market focused meetings or presentations

The applicant should have strong technical experience with air quality analyses, and also have experience interacting with clients and regulatory agencies. The ideal candidate would also have experience with leading a technical team and/or mentoring junior level staff on technical work. This position will be expected to communicate with clients, and progress to being the primary client contact in some situations. The candidate should have a working knowledge of Federal and various State air quality regulations. 

Minimum Experience:

  • Emission calculations
  • Minor source permitting
  • Proficient with air emissions software such as E&P Tanks and GRI GlyCalc
  • Air quality regulations applicability determinations

Preferred Experience (beneficial but not required):

  • Dispersion modeling
  • Greenhouse gas reporting and/or regulations
  • Major source permitting
  • NEPA air quality analyses

Professional Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Environmental, or related
  • 10+ years of related experience years of experience in Air Quality compliance
  • Proficient at communicating with clients and public
  • Strong experience with the oil and gas industry
  • Proficient in Microsoft programs including Word and Excel
  • Strong experience with writing and communicating technical material
  • Minor travel may be necessary
