Job Description


The Monterey Peninsula Water Management District (MPWMD) is seeking an enthusiastic individual with strong customer service skills and experience in ordinance enforcement to join its Water Demand Division. The successful candidate will be working in a fast-paced team environment, delivering excellent customer service, and exercising sound judgment and critical thinking skills.  Responsibilities include issuing notices of violation and letters regarding enforcement action, inspecting property for compliance with water conservation regulations and permit requirements, investigating water waste complaints, calculating connection charges and water allocation, interpreting rules, regulations and ordinances for the public, preparing statistical and narrative reports, documenting and analyzing water use, and representing the District with local businesses and public agencies.

Experience and Training

One year of water conservation service experience  AND/OR equivalent to completion of twelfth grade supplemented by college level course work in public administration, business administration, public relations, environmental or related field. AND Possession of a valid California driver’s license AND possession of, or ability to obtain a Level 1 Water Use Efficiency Practitioner Certification by American Water Works Association within one year from date of hire.
