We are looking for a motivated Environmental Project Chemist with experience in environmental data validation, laboratory bench experience, lab audits and data management.  We are looking for someone who is commercially astute, and comfortable dealing at all levels within a client organization. We are flexible on office location based in one of our GHD US offices.

In this role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing costs estimates and contracting laboratories services in support of GHD’s environmental projects 
  • Identifying appropriate analytical methods, parameter lists, report limits, report deliverables  and turnaround times to meet project specific requirements
  • Coordinating laboratory services to ensure project requirements are met, acting as the liaison between laboratories and the project team
  • Completing data quality assessment and validation of laboratory data
  • Preparing project specific Quality Assurance Project Plans (QAPPs) and Sampling and Analysis Plans (SAPs)
  • Support project teams by addressing/resolving laboratory issues, tracking/expediting deliverables, and explaining laboratory data

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Environmental Science
  • At least 10 years of experience with a strong focus in environmental data validation, laboratory bench experience, lab audits and data management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially MS Excel
  • Great communication skills and ability to work as part of a team (as well as independently)
  • Must be comfortable with taking initiative and being proactive in collecting information
