ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an enthusiastic, supportive, detail-oriented Outreach Coordinator to mentor and manage a team of outreach associates in our Portland-based courtesy call center. Reporting to the Senior Outreach Manager, the Call Center Outreach Coordinator maintains a thriving, efficient inbound and outbound call center to enroll customers in renewable energy and carbon offset programs through partnership with utilities in Oregon and around the nation. The ideal candidate possesses a passion for the environment and sustainability, a love of organization and creating clarity out of complexity, and a zeal for coaching team members toward great performance.
This position is 30-40 hours per week, with benefits including medical, dental and vision, flexPTO, 401(k) with company matching program, and more.
This role will be located in our Portland, OR office. Consideration for remote work is not available for this position.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Mentor and manage a team of 5-10 part-time and full-time outreach staff in the Portland courtesy call center, hiring new members as needed
Ensure the courtesy call center achieves enrollment goals and maintains extraordinary customer service, at both the individual and group level
Provide sustainability program and call center software training to new and existing call center outreach associates
Collaborate with management on staff development, training opportunities, and best practices
Perform field assessments and monitor call recordings for all programs as outlined in partnership agreements
Monitor and report on key performance indicators
Create and/or update call scripts, job aids, and training materials
Acquire and maintain a deep familiarity with renewable energy
Accurately describe energy programs to customers, and ensure your team does too
Lead by doing: perform inbound & outbound phone outreach & sales
WHAT WE SEEK FROM YOU
Demonstrated experience training, mentoring, and motivating a successful team
Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a sales, outreach, political organizing, or community organizing role strongly preferred
Experience working in call centers, phone banks, or other positions with significant phone-related work preferred
Fluency in Google Apps / G Suite strongly preferred
Dedication to sustainability and interest in renewable energy
Strength at building rapport with strangers in conversation over the phone, and training staff to do the same
Excellent organizational and follow-up skills
Superb communication skills and influencing ability
