The Advanced Clean Cars Branch's (ACCB) mission is to foster a sustainable market for zero and near zero emission light-duty technologies through regulation and complementary policies. The Zero Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Section within ACCB is responsible for developing, implementing and assessing complimentary policies for the zero emission vehicle (ZEV) regulation that primarily include infrastructure development and fuel cell technology assessments. These efforts will include technical, environmental and economic assessments, assistance with charging and fueling station development, participation in codes and standards development, and tracking infrastructure development and implementation efforts.
This position will fill the need of a hydrogen program expert to work with automotive and station developers, other hydrogen stakeholders including state and local agencies. The position will be responsible for working with a wide range of government and private stakeholders performing duties related to the development and implementation of additional measures relating to achievement of zero emission vehicle goals. Responsibilities include developing policy recommendations, advising policy makers and external stakeholders, and identifying and developing solutions to challenges that could affect ZEV Infrastructure deployments, primarily in the hydrogen program. In addition, the Staff Air Pollution Specialist will work with automotive and station developers, and public agencies, to develop models to analyze and recommend the future need for the number of publically available hydrogen stations and the optimum geographic location for the stations.
